Five first-year students have received Canada’s most coveted undergraduate science, technology, engineering and mathematics scholarships.
Launched in 2012, Schulich Leader Scholarships are awarded to 100 students entering McMaster and 19 other Canadian universities. Every high school in Canada can nominate one graduating student each year.
“I found out when I was checking my email at school right before a biology test. Safe to say I couldn’t focus too well on the test. I’d like to thank my teachers and guidance counselors who helped me with the application, provided references and supported me throughout high school. I also want to thank my sister who always kept me motivated to apply for scholarships and strive for greatness.”
Other Faculty of Science students: Amanda Sullivan, Arnica Khaton, Kaylee Rich, Kyle Sung and Ziqi Shang are are this year’s recipients of Schulich Leader Scholarships. Five students from the Faculty of Engineering also received scholarships.
